Despite recent political rhetoric, many migrant workers come to the U.S. legally. In upstate New York, men arrive seasonally to pick apples, gaining employment via an agreement between Jamaica and the United States. New York is the second largest apple producing state in the U.S. and the more than $300-million industry would suffer greatly without this influx of labor. This story is currently in progress.
